According to legend, the ancient Greeks took a mythical drug called “Nepenthe” to forget all of their worries. The modern Nepenthe is a haven from the cares of a hectic world. Residents who have been away often say that they begin to relax as soon as they enter the property again.
Come and walk the miles of pathways meandering throughout Nepenthe’s heavily wooded and beautifully landscaped grounds. Enjoy the best in poolside recreation and relaxation, or play on one of the many well maintained tennis courts located throughout the Nepenthe community. Our newly renovated clubhouse is not only home to our on-site management office; it also offers a large modern kitchen, a library and card room, fitness room, meeting room, fireplace, and a place just to relax and enjoy the social events of the community.
Just a short walk or bike ride away is the famous Guy West Bridge (a smaller version of the Golden Gate) which crosses the American River to California State University at Sacramento. The campus is full of sporting events, classes, lectures, performing arts, and other programs that are open to the public. Nearby, Loehmann’s Plaza and The Pavilions are destination points for dining and shopping in the Sacramento area. Click here to learn more about nearby restaurants and shopping (list coming soon!).
The nationally renowned American River Parkway parallels the Nepenthe community, providing a beautiful view of the river. Easy access is provided to residents to enjoy nearly 65 miles of paved bike paths, with additional unpaved hiking trails amidst wildlife, flowers, and towering oak and cottonwood trees.
The Nepenthe Board of Directors, elected by the residents, provides oversight of the community’s operating budget and the reserve fund. Residents don’t have to worry about maintaining fences, roofs, and siding on their homes; all of that is done by the association, which has a well-funded maintenance plan. All work is done promptly and to high standards, keeping Nepenthe rated as Sacramento’s top homeowners association. Nepenthe was the recipient of the Large Homeowners Association of the Year for 2013.
